Thank you for such a cogent, urgent reminder. It reminds me of this anecdote:

In 1908, The Times of London asked a wide range of noted writers to pen an article in response to the question: “What is wrong in the world today?” The English author and philosopher, Gilbert Keith “G.K.” Chesterton, replied with the one-line “essay”:

“I am.”

An important post regarding something that humanity must learn before we can consider ourselves truly in touch with truth. Not an easy thing to understand until we face our own dark side, and we all have one, you can't be human without it. The point is to master it, but that won't happen until you develop the moral courage to face it. https://substack.com/home/post/p-150872728
