- Because of trauma, shadow, etc, we're externalizing our power & qualities on the outside.
- We can externalize this power on any outside person or object. For example, if we externalize our power & qualities on a person, it can become our hero.
- Then when this person (hero) dies, we falsely believe that the power & qualities we projected on him/her die too.
- But that's an illusion because this power & qualities were always here with us. We've just falsely externalize it outside on a person.
How to fix that:
1. Imagine the person and/or the power & qualities he/she represented.
2. Imagine that all this is still here. It can never be lost or disappear.
3. Now become one with the person and/or the power & qualities he/she represented. You can use any other method that suits you to incorporate this back into you.
I too read "Existential Kink", and was moved and changed by that book. The untruth of the stories we tell ourselves, the deliciousness of our attachment to a victim narrative, all resonated powerfully with me.
Grief is love.
We never stop grieving for someone we love, because love never stops.
The corollary to this is this hidden truth: If love never stops, then nothing ever really dies.
I don't know what death is.
When the physical body ceases its biological processes, and our beloved stops interacting with us, how "real" is that?
Grief is the messenger who tells us that DEATH IS NOT THE ORIGINAL PLAN.
If death was an original and organic part of God's creation, we would all be perfectly ok with it.
But none of us are ok with death. I'm not talking about the ego's fear of our personal death. That is easily overcome . I'm talking about our soul's absolute refusal to accept another person's absence in our lives.
We never really get over it, as you so eloquently point out. We will come to some form of "acceptance", which is our body's inability to sustain the active grief. This is a healing process, similar to any physical healing process. But when someone we love dies, the grief remains. The scar never goes away, because the love never really goes away. Grief is more like the phantom sensations of an amputated limb than anything else.
Death is not natural. I appreciate your refusal to accept it as a natural process. I don't pretend to understand the paradox of the physical cessation of life as a real/un-real phenomenon. In my sensory experience, death occurs, but my soul rejects it as real.
So be it.
God loves us. God is not ok with death, hence God's Plan of Salvation, and the manifestation of Jesus Christ on Earth.
If there was any evidence that death is not part of the original plan, this is the greatest evidence of all. God is not happy with death, and God made a plan for us to escape it, if for no other reason than God wants relationship and communion with us because God loves us.
Yep, chaos magician, animist and many other labels he has worn. His podcast has a huge library, not even including all the other podcasts he guested on. Quite a funny guy and very intelligent, I bet you will enjoy his work.
haha! I promise that article is coming next! I just felt the need to write about this first. I see many people mentioning Gordon White under Carolyn's posts, so now I'm going to look him up and hopefully share in the beautiful experience of his wonderful teachings. Thank you :)
You're welcome. He has a substack, but I recommend starting with runesoup.com.
Hope you don't mind me asking you a symbolism question.
What do you think the universe is saying when it keeps sending tiny scorpions into my house? They are always on the same wall and have never been aggressive, just hanging out in plain view.
Ahhh yay thank you for asking me! I love interpreting omens ^_^ So what it means for YOU depends on A) what you feel when you see them, and B) your strongest impression of scorpions in memory, which you can usually figure out by asking yourself "What is my first memory ever of scorpions?"
Thanks, lets see, a) is easy, curiousity (both oh neat what is this doing here and I wonder if I can make this a pet, spoiler I couldn't) and cautious respect, due to its poisonous nature.
B) I think my first memory is either watching a nature documentary about them or seeing them at a zoo. So fascination.
Oh beautiful, so you don't have the abject fear most people have of scorpions. So now that you've determined how you feel (curious and fascinated), the next step is to free-associate synonyms that come to mind when you think of scorpions. That is how you determine its symbolic meaning to you personally. Once you've done that, your task is to contextualize the symbolic meaning within whatever's developing in your life right now. What changes are happening? Who are you becoming? What are you aspiring towards? etc. The scorpion's symbolism will represent aspects of *yourself* that are coming into the light of your awareness within the current circumstances, thanks to your curiosity and fascination.
Thanks for the help and pointing my mind in a direction I can work with. Screenshotted for later. For now I'll think on what you wrote and let it ruminate. Maybe my dreams tonight will have some insight. I appreciate you.
Finally I got it:

Thank you for this, and I feel compelled to echo Antila's opening line: Condolences for your losses and congratulations on your gains! 🙏
Condolences for your losses and congratulations on your gains!
I had a similar reaction when reading about Gordon White's passing. Teachers always leave a mark.
On the funny side, my first thought when reading this article's title was, "that's a strange way to go about comparing Jesus and Lucifer."
NO WAY he was a chaos magician?!?! I AM A CHAOS MAGICIAN! What in the synchromystic f*** is going on 😭
