"UGLY" Album Announcement!!!

My new album

UGLY

will be yours on November 3rd

Much like my first EP, RUN RABBIT RUN!,
"UGLY" is a concept album centered around an animal.
This time it's my spirit animal, the deep sea anglerfish.

I’ve got plenty to say about the symbolism of little miss anglerfish — so much so, that I have an hour-long video and a BOOK coming out alongside the album. 🙃
I’ll be diving deep on:

• What the light on her head actually means (no, it’s not a “trick”)

• How she makes her own light in the darkness

• Her ferocious, primordial femininity — and yet, paradoxically,

• her androgynous permanent union with the male anglerfish

• and of course, the spiritual value of her ugliness

Soon, soon, soon.

For now, let’s just enjoy some cool sounds together, yeah? 😘

I've been pouring myself into UGLY since May of 2022,
doing deeeeep work to bring this album to life.
So it is with IMMENSE gratitude excitement that I share this album teaser:

I love love looooove a lot of things about UGLY, not least of which is its heavier nu metal & alternative rock elements. I grew up listening to bands like Filter, Failure, Chevelle, Linkin Park, Flyleaf, Sneaker Pimps... and you'll hear those influences in these songs.

It's a big change from RUN RABBIT RUN!, that's for sure. But despite the departure from my "old sound," I just gno you're gonna love UGLY as much as I do.

(Fun fact about the diamond symbol: In Sanskrit, the word “vajra” means both “diamond” and “lightning bolt.” So naturally, me and Crab named the anglerfish on the album cover Vajra. What better name for a creature who makes light under the crushing pressure of the deep ocean? 💎⚡)
