Dear Alicen,

there's a powerful, occult Law of Secrecy for precisely this reason. It boils down to, "shroud your intended manifestation in secrecy until it has enough momentum behind it to be undeniable."

A part of observing this very useful rule is to limit the circle of people aware of any given project or intention to those who are on the side of free will, and desire to be uplifting and positive, or who are part of the project themselves.

It's essentially the use of the main aspect of conspiracy practice -- secrecy -- for positive purposes. There are excellent reasons that positive secret societies also exist, and why a project such as the printing press was shrouded in total secrecy by Gutenberg and his allies for five years.

Observing this Law has sharply reduced the number of incursions on my Free Will, and increased the number of things I actually accomplish drastically. I encourage anyone to try it and see if it benefits them.

!!! I've always balked at the way other occultists have explained secrecy to me. Usually there's an overtone of smug superiority, as if the secrecy is based on a belief that people are too stupid or unworthy to handle conversations about magick, etc. But I like your explanation better. It rings true. It's not about people being stupid, it's about them being an unnecessary deadweight dragging you down when you're trying to fly 🪽

Absolutely. Some of the reasons for this rule are actually also quite mundane, too.

-- Naysayers, people who feel threatened in their sense of self by others' progress or success, or other toxic individuals don't have anything to attack. And we save energy by not having to fend off their attacks.

-- Our dopaminergic reward system feels the same "hit" if we talk about our projects or goals as if we actually go about realising them step-by-step. If we keep silent, we don't have this avenue to procure cheap dopamine hits, so we actually need to pursue our mainfestations in order to stay motivated. So it's actually preventing motivational energy from dissipating if we keep silent about a project or intention especially in its early stages.

This is one of the reasons many introverts can be very successful and highly capable individuals.

Very encouranging, thank you!

There is the old saying, maybe of Augustine? "Love and do what you will."

This brings to mind M. Scott Peck’s People of the Lie. He wasn’t talking so much about a cosmic Matrix as a human one: people who refuse to face the truth about themselves often try to control others instead. That may be one of the most ordinary forms of evil there is.

There is a truth here that I cannot quite put my finger on. I feel it rather than rationalise it. And that is well outside my comfort zone.

Thank you for discombobulating me!
